SUMMARY:5 STEPS TO TURN WAR INTO PEACE
DESCRIPTION:This talk was conceived with the understanding that all outer conflict\, including war\, is a manifestation of pre-existing inner\, mental conflict. Without inner\, mental conflict\, outer conflict does not spontaneously manifest in the body\, nor in the world as war. \nIn 2022 we are all experiencing the horrors of war in Ukraine through a flood of digital images. We ask ourselves how inhumane\, premeditated acts of death and destruction could arise in the 21st century. From a yogic perspective the answer comes as simple logic. When our individual and collective outer actions (thoughts\, words and deeds) are based on our inner wisdom\, peace is experienced\, and we are able to fulfill the purpose of our lives. But when our individual and collective outer actions do not follow our inner wisdom\, that interior conflict becomes the mother of all pain and sorrow––including war. \nThis presentation will help attendees to: \n\nDeepen their understanding of certain principles of Yoga Science\, Philosophy and Psychology\n\n\nUnderstand the importance of Coordinating the Four Functions of the Mind: Ego\, Senses\, Unconscious and Conscience (Buddhi).\n\n\nUnderstand how to optimize Your Conscience to enable you to experiment with resolving your own mind’s inner conflicts. By practicing what is learned you will increasingly observe yourself acting out of kindness and compassion\, rather than adding to the outer conflict in the world. Your skillful action will then bring you the purpose\, resolve\, courage\, commitment and clarity you need in order to become a force for peace and prophet of Love.\n\n\nUnderstand how to cultivate will power\, creativity and energy to do what is to be done\, and not do what is not to be done to help turn WAR into PEACE.\n\nRegistration is required for this event.\nYou will receive a Zoom link via email when you register. We look forward to seeing you! \nFREE LIVE Satsang on ZOOM\nThursday\, May 26\, 2022 • 8:00 – 9:30pm ET (7:00 – 8:30pm CT)\n \nREGISTER NOWThe Meditation Center offers training in Raja Yoga\, an integrated\, scientific\, experiential approach to improving a person’s ability to skillfully use mind and body in everyday life. It was first codified by the great Indian scholar and sage Patanjali in his famous work\, The Yoga Sutras. \nThe Meditation Center serves as a resource of the Himalayan Tradition\, which was established in the West by H.H. Sri Swami Rama of the Himalayas. The ancient methods taught in this tradition underlie the variety of meditation systems found in all faiths. Raja Yoga not only includes the physical postures and stretches that people often refer to as yoga\, but also includes efficient breathing\, control of the senses\, enhanced concentration\, the cultivation of personally healthy habits\, training in social relationships\, and higher stages of meditation. SUMMARY:Free Webinar
DESCRIPTION:HOW YOU CAN HELP TURN WAR INTO PEACE!\nBy Resolving Inner Conflict\nSunday\, April 10\, 2022\n7:30 – 8:30pm ET\nPresented by Leonard (Ram Lev) Perlmutter & Jenness Perlmutter\nand a panel of Yoga Scientists \nThis FREE webinar was conceived with the understanding that all outer conflict\, including war\, is a manifestation of some pre-existing inner mental conflict. Without inner mental conflict\, outer conflict does not spontaneously manifest in the body or in the world. \nIn 2022 we are all experiencing the horrors of war in Ukraine through a flood of digital images. We ask ourselves how inhumane\, premeditated acts of death and destruction could arise in the 21st century. From a yogic perspective the answer is simple logic. When our individual and collective outer actions (thoughts\, words and deeds) are based on our inner wisdom\, we are always led for our highest and greatest good. But when our individual and collective outer actions do not follow our inner wisdom\, that interior conflict becomes the mother of all pain and sorrow. \nToday the human mind’s unbridled fascination with technology-based information\, and its failure to discriminate between short-term ego or sense gratification––as opposed to the perennial good that supports all humanity––is the cause of war. But by learning to consciously serve the Super Conscious Wisdom of Your Conscience\, you can help turn the energies that fuel war into peace\, purpose\, meaning and contentment. And each of us already holds the key. \nTO RECOGNIZE AND TURN THE KEY\, THIS WEBINAR WILL SHOW YOU: \n\n\n\nHOW TO: Coordinate the Four Functions of the Mind: Ego\, Senses\, Unconscious and Conscience.\nHOW TO: Optimize Your Conscience to enable you to experiment with resolving your own mind’s inner conflicts. By practicing what you learn\, you’ll increasingly observe yourself acting out of kindness and compassion rather than adding to the outer conflict in the world. Your skillful action will bring you the purpose\, resolve\, courage\, commitment and clarity you need in order to become a force for peace.\nHOW TO: Develop power\, creativity and energy to do what is to be done\, and not do what is not to be done to help turn WAR into PEACE.\n\n\n\nRemember\, pain is the shadow of the outstretched hand of the Supreme Intelligence. Pain\, including the pain of war\, is like those warning signs posted along the highway: “Falling Rock Zone\,” “Slow––Curve\,” “Wrong Way––Do Not Enter”. The pain caused by inner mental conflict provides essential telemetry to assure a safe journey through life. And if we choose to mask\, but not eliminate the whispering pain from inner mental conflict\, its decibel level will only get louder and louder and louder––until the dis-ease turns into a full-fledged disease or some shared and horrifically painful experience like war. \nThis timely webinar will feature the gifted teacher Leonard Perlmutter\, AMI founder and author of the new book “Your Conscience\,” and an panel of experienced Yoga Scientists. Please join us and share this opportunity with your family\, friends\, work colleagues and enemies. \nRegistration is required for this event.\nYou will receive a Zoom link via email when you register and a reminder a day before. We look forward to seeing you! \nFREE LIVE Webinar on ZOOM\nSunday\, April 10\, 2022 • 7:30 – 8:30pm ET\n \nREGISTER NOWLeonard Perlmutter (Ram Lev) is the founder of The American Meditation Institute and originator of National Conscience Month. SUMMARY:Conversations on Your Conscience
DESCRIPTION:Use Your Conscience to Bring Greater Creativity Into Your World\nwith Mahiema Anand\, Filmmaker and Jenness Cortez\, Artist\nSEPTEMBER 22\, 2021\nWednesday morning\, 10:30 – 11:30am ET\nLIVE Webinar Online via ZOOM\nTo celebrate the release of YOUR CONSCIENCE\, a new book by Leonard Perlmutter (Ram Lev)\, we are pleased to have Mahiema Anand and Jenness Cortez joining us in the second in a series of webinars entitled “Conversations on Your Conscience.” Please join us on Wednesday as Leonard speaks with Mahiema Anand and Jenness Cortez about their perspectives on how to use Your Conscience to improve your wellbeing. Time will be allotted for audience Q&A. \nFREE\, Registration is required to attend. \nREGISTER NOW \nMahiema Anand\, Filmmaker\nMahiema Anand began her career in the media working for major advertising agencies in her native India. The trajectory of her life changed when she met Ken Dyer\, a documentary filmmaker who taught her the basics of the craft while on a backpacking trip across Australia’s east coast. She worked for about a dozen years as an independent documentary filmmaker and producer for major outlets including BBC Wales\, Columbia Tristar\, Turner Broadcasting\, and TLC Discovery\, among others.\nAround the year 2000\, Mahiema was on location at the Ganges River\, filming a Tantric Indian sect that goes beyond all societal taboos\, including those around the human corpse. The experience profoundly impacted her\, and she describes the meaning of the moment like this: “Watching death and the philosophy of life unravel itself with such vividness defined my purpose as a filmmaker. Believe it or not\, it’s been 20 long years and I am yet to touch fiction.” Since then\, her work has revolved around stories and people associated with spirituality\, mysticism\, paranormal experiences and alchemy that explore some of the lesser-known and lesser-understood aspects of the world we live in. Her most recent creative expression is called Shifting Tides\, a YouTube series of interviews with a wide variety of fascinating guests\, including Dr. Ervin Laszlo\, now in its second season. \n \nJenness Cortez\, Artist\nJenness Cortez a distinguished figure in the contemporary revival of classical realist painting. She was born in Indiana and as a teenager studied with the classically trained Dutch painter Antonius Raemaekers. She further developed her solid fine arts background as a graduate of the Herron School of Art in Indianapolis and student of Arnold Blanch at the Art Students League of New York. \nEarly in her career she worked as an editorial illustrator\, then returned to her love of painting\, with animals as her primary subject matter. For twenty years (1977-1996)\, she skillfully portrayed horses–most notably\, thoroughbred racehorses. In the mid-1990s a growing interest in again broadening the challenges of her work inspired Cortez to move from horses to landscapes\, then to cityscapes and at last to interiors and still life painting where her focus remains today. Since 2003 the Homage to the Creative Spirit series has been her primary mode of expression. She continues to produce these superbly conceived and executed images. Each of her works touches upon important questions about the nature of painting and the significance of art objects\, and presents subtle shades of meaning that invite contemplation. \nMs. Cortez has been exhibiting in New York since 1975 and has had more than 40 solo shows throughout the United States. Her work is in numerous public and private collections including those of the New York State Museum\, Skidmore College\, SUNY Empire State College\, Presidents Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton\, and HRH Queen Elizabeth\, II. \nREGISTER NOW

SUMMARY:Physicians Panel Discussion Webinar
DESCRIPTION:In Celebration of the 2nd Annual National\nCONSCIENCE MONTH\n\n\nAMI Presents A Special Webinar for Physicians\, PAs\, NPs\,\nOther Healthcare Providers AND the General Public.\n\nSaturday\, January 9\, 2020 • 10:30am – 12:00pm\nStreaming Live Online via ZOOM\n\nThis event is FREE\nRegistration is required to attend.\n\nRegister now \nPlease join us for this Medical Physicians Panel Discussion:\n\nHow I Personally Benefit from \nYoga Science and Its Practices\n\n\nThere is a severe and worsening epidemic of physician burnout in the United States. The impact of COVID-19 has made it worse and increased the threat to the health of doctors and patients alike. Whether you are a physician or a patient\, acknowledging and addressing this situation is critical for all of us. \nPlease join us for this special webinar featuring five physicians. Each physician will speak about their own practice and share their experiences in using AMI Meditation and Yoga Science to address their burnout issues as well as help their patients. \nThis Physicians Panel webinar is part of AMI’s 2nd Annual National Conscience Month. Fundamental to our ability to address our own distress and pain\, is to learn to listen to our Conscience. When we listen to that voice inside telling us what thoughts to think\, what words to speak and what actions to take – and we muster the will power to do these things – we reduce the stressors causing burnout and live happier lives. \nWe encourage everyone to register for and attend this free webinar. If you are unable to attend\, a recording of the webinar will be available on the AMI website and YouTube channel. \nSPEAKERS\nLorenz Iannarone\, MD\nLarry is Chief of General Surgery at Holy Redeemer Hospital and Medical Center in Meadowbrook\, Pennsylvania. SUMMARY:Guru Purnima
DESCRIPTION:Full Moon Fire Ceremony and Sitar Concert\nCelebrating the bountiful blessings of the Light of Guru\nWe cordially invite all seekers of the Truth on the path of fire and light to join us to celebrate and rejoice in the wisdom and blessings of the sages. Guru Purnima is the occasion when students revisit their teachers to rejuvenate their sadhana (spiritual practice) and to receive inspiration and further instruction on their spiritual journey. As part of this year’s celebration\, internationally renowned sitarist\, Veena Chandra will present an inspiring sitar concert. \nThe annual Guru Purnima celebration honors the concept of Guru\, the universal force of light that is always available to help correct our ignorance and cure our dis-ease. True happiness\, therefore\, can be obtained by learning to reflect the light of guru already within us––through our mind\, action and speech. Yoga Science teaches the earnest seeker to “include all and exclude none.” If the outer guru\, in the form of a person or experience\, reflects the truth and light of the inner guru\, the advice is to be heeded and served in thought\, word and deed. If a suggestion from the outer guru is not in harmony with the inner guru as reflected by the purified discrimination of buddhi\, the advice is to be honored and lovingly rejected\, with gratitude — for your teacher has just taught you what not to do. \nIn service\, with love — Leonard and Jenness \nVeena Chandra\nVeena Chandra is an internationally renowned sitarist\, composer\, teacher and choreographer. She is the founder and director of the Dance and Music School of India in Latham\, New York\, where she teaches Indian classical music. \nEveryone is invited for this FREE event. SUMMARY:Movie & Satsang: "The Last Temptation of Christ"
DESCRIPTION:MOVIE & SATSANG\nThursday night\, 6:30 – 9:30pm\nAMI – 60 Garner Road\, Averill Park NY\nAMI presents entertaining and thought-provoking films reflecting practical Yoga Science. Each Thursday night program begins at 6:30pm with a movie and is followed by a philosophical discussion (satsang). A group meditation concludes the evening. \n$10 per person \nAll reservations must be received no later than the Tuesday before the event. \n \n“THE LAST TEMPTATION OF CHRIST”\nStarring Willem Dafoe\, Harvey Keitel and Barbara Hershey\nThe Last Temptation of Christ is an important yogic film brilliantly directed by Martin Scorsese. Without question it is one of the most serious\, literate\, complex\, and deeply felt spiritual films ever made. The movie script was adapted from Nikos Kazantzakis’s imaginative retelling of the life of Jesus the Christ. Martin Scorsese\, a Catholic by birth\, began attending the Cathedral College Seminary in New York in 1956 at the age of 14. His intention was to enter the priesthood. During that period of time\, the Kazantzakis novel became an inspiration to the future Academy Award winning director. During his early filmmaking years Scorcese began to see The Last Temptation of Christ as an opportunity to create a religious epic like no other––a “Passion project” if ever there was one. The Last Temptation of Christ\, according to Kazantzakis himself displays the “part of Christ’s nature which was profoundly human and helps the reader [and now the movie viewer] to understand and love him and to pursue his passion as though it were our own. If he did not have within himself this warm\, human element\, he would never have been able to touch our hearts with such assurance and tenderness; he would not be able to become a model for our lives.” And so instead of portraying Christ as a remote icon\, Scorsese’s film explores what it meant for Jesus to be fully human––valiantly struggling with his animal nature in order to be fully united with the Divine. With this journey to Christ-consciousness as the central focus\, other familiar figures from the story—particularly Judas and Mary Magdalene—can now also be seen in a fresh yogic light. As for the work’s title\, the “last temptation” is simply the human desire for a normal life. \nView the movie trailer
